The service
Our LEV appraisal service is a systematic assessment of an LEV system by a Competent Person. Its purpose is to verify that the system is operating as originally intended, and is providing adequate protection to employees from identified hazardous substances, whilst also assisting with statutory compliance with health and safety regulations.
Our service will establish the system benchmarking performance details to enable the direct comparison of control efficiency at the statutory periodic thorough examination and test.
What we will deliver
Our detailed report will provide optimal system values and actual velocity and pressure readings, and advise on any improvements required to ensure continued control:
- Visual examination: A thorough inspection of all components (hoods, ductwork, filters, fans, discharge points) for damage, wear, or blockages.
- Performance measurement: Using specialist equipment (e.g. anemometers and pressure manometers) to measure airflow rates, static pressures, and determine system performance benchmarks.
- Exposure control assessment: An assessment to confirm the system is effectively capturing contaminants at their source and adequately protecting workers. This may involve smoke tests or airborne contaminant measurements.
Our report will also include images of critical components and schematic system diagrams, where applicable.
