    The service

    Our HSG236 Inspection service goes beyond statutory inspection, providing a specialised power press service which ensures enclosed parts and electrical systems are inspected to ensure their safe operation, as well as supporting achieving compliance with The Provision and use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER).
    Early detection of safety-critical component defects reduce the risk of uncovenanted strokes and potential serious personnel injuries.
    By proactively identifying failing components or developing faults well in advance, businesses can schedule maintenance and repairs at a time that minimises disruption to their operations. This eliminates the financial impact of lost productivity, emergency repair costs, and potential machine failure.
    PUWER is a critical piece of legislation whose objective is to ensure the provision of safe work equipment throughout the lifetime of its use, regardless of its condition, age or origin, and designed to prevent serious injury from the failure of work equipment. 

    Our bespoke service will examine:
     

    • the internal enclosed parts of a power press by applying the 'Magnetic Particle Inspection' method to detect surface and sub-surface flaws of safety-critical components that are not normally exposed for inspection at the recommended examination frequencies. 
    • the electrical supply and control systems to apply a visual examination, insulation resistance, earth loop impedance, and earth continuity tests to detect potential serious electrical defects; such as overheating, short circuits, insulation deterioration, and damage to the electrical components.

    • The provision of in-house Engineering Consultants who are certified to 'ASNT Level 2 Magnetic Particle Inspection' and 'BS767: Requirements for Electrical Installation'.
    • Application of the 'Magnetic Particle Procedure' for the requirements of HSG236.
    • Detailed non-destructive testing and electrical reports.
    • A thorough inspection of all mechanical/electrical safety-critical components.
