Munich Re cited as one of “Europe’s Greenest Companies” by Institutional Investor magazine

Munich Re came out on top amongst companies in the insurance sector, and was placed 9th overall in a survey conducted by Institutional Investor magazine and made public in their May 2010 edition. The magazine’s “2010 All-Europe Executive Team Survey”, which asks analysts and investors to rank the region’s best corporate leaders, CEO’s and CFO’s; this year asked that they also name the “greenest” firms in each of the 32 sectors covered. The companies that were cited the most by participants were viewed as taken the issues of sustainability and climate change most seriously. Munich Re’s MEAG (Munich ERGO Asset Management) was also mentioned for having set up guidelines that consider environmental, social and corporate governance issues when making investment decisions.
