With a deep knowledge of risk, a high level of risk modelling expertise, and experience in risk management, Munich Re is exceptionally strong as a provider of the first model, i.e. comprehensive solutions. Our aim is to further leverage our position as a solid and forward-looking partner, further reinforced by our track record in the financial and economic crisis, to be our clients’ first port of call for any risk-related issues and all matters requiring specific expertise.
We also seek to expand our scope and address not only new client groups, or “risk sponsors”, to be identified within the context of public-private partnerships, but also insurance companies specialising in niche segments. Here, specific expertise in risk is a key factor in achieving success.
Of course, traditional reinsurance is and will remain our core business, but we want to make the most of our know-how. We aim to be the first name that comes to mind, especially when our clients and business partners need to resolve complex underwriting issues.
Our focus includes topics such as balance sheet management, coverage of complex risks, and the insurance of new risk areas. We continue to sharpen the definition of our strategic position: we want to guarantee our clients individual, holistic reinsurance solutions. In this context, our consulting services are becoming more specialised, with particular focus on risk management, risk modelling and asset-liability management. The client management service has been reorganised with this in mind.
