Curriculum vitae

Robin Johnson was born in Hillingdon, Middlesex, United Kingdom, in 1967.

He completed his Higher National Diploma in Computer Studies at Thames Valley University in 1989.

His career started in 1988 when he joined Amp Now Tyco International Ltd. in London as a Business Analyst/Developer, before moving to Marks and Spencer Group plc in London to assume the role of a Project Manager in 1989. Starting in 1995, he worked as a Senior Consultant and later on as a Senior Manager at Ernst & Young in London and New York. In 2001, he was appointed Senior Vice President Application Development at Safeway Inc. in California.

Robin Johnson joined DELL Inc. in 2005, initially working in the Greater London area as Vice President and CIO Europe, Middle East and Africa, before moving to Texas in 2008 to assume responsibility for global IT in the role of Global Chief Information Officer. In 2012, he became Chief Information Officer at Mærsk Line and Head of Mærsk Group Infrastructure Services in Copenhagen.

Robin Johnson took on the role of Chief Information Officer at Munich Reinsurance Company in April 2017, where he headed the Central Division IT. He was additionally appointed to the Board of Management of ERGO Group AG as Chief Technology Officer in March 2023, and has also been serving as Chair of the Board of Management of ERGO Technology & Services Management AG since August 2023.

Robin Johnson was appointed a Member of Munich Reinsurance Company’s Board of Management and Chief Technology Officer effective 1 August 2025. He is responsible for the Information Technology division. Robin Johnson remains a Member of the Board of Management of ERGO Group AG and Chair of the Board of Management of ERGO Technology & Services Management AG in parallel.
