Munich Reinsurance Company of Africa Limited (MRoA) has been active in South Africa for over 50 years. In 2015, Munich  Re expanded its Johannesburg site to focus the company’s skills and expertise in one central hub for all of Sub-Saharan Africa.

Now centralised knowledge across all classes is readily at hand at a one-stop-shop for reinsurance, insurance, and insurance-related risk solutions. Enhanced communication and travel connections in Johannesburg make working with our clients across Sub-Saharan Africa efficient and seamless.

To train insurance leaders and prepare them for the challenges of a transforming risk landscape, Munich  Re of Africa has launched the innovative Leadership Inspiring Mutual Advancement (LIMA) programme. LIMA encourages thought leadership in the age of the digital industrial revolution. As a nod to the word ‘to cultivate’ in the Nguni languages, LIMA is the perfect acronym for MRoA’s latest training programme.

A holistic approach to training and gaining experience
With access by invitation only, the programme is designed to grow business skills, enhance leadership ability, and help talented insurance industry practitioners cultivate a knowledge network.

Located in Parktown, our Munich  Re offices boast amazing views not only of Johannesburg sunsets but of our art collection. In its paintings, drawings and sculptures, we celebrate artists across Africa and honour their rich diversity of expression.
