Could generative AI models such as ChatGPT eventually alter the science and art of risk selection? The answer is yes, according to Munich Re’s Dr. Tim Meagher.

In this article, recently published in the Journal of Insurance Medicine, Dr. Meagher predicts several likely impacts on insurance medicine, including improved mortality through better disease detection and treatment, the arrival of novel predictive associations, and perhaps a redefinition of the notion of health. He also cautions that not all issues with AI in the medical sphere have been solved, which warrants a close watch as this technology unfolds.
