Munich Re Life US (Munich Re) is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with Goodpath, a provider of whole-person virtual care for chronic conditions. The partnership, which aims to improve disability experience, increase return to work rates, and reduce long-term disability (LTD) incidence, allows disability insurance carriers in the U.S. and Canada direct access to Goodpath’s whole-person virtual care platform designed to address specific needs.

Traditional care for chronic conditions treats either physical or mental factors. Yet, individuals with disorders such as musculoskeletal, sleep, and digestive conditions experience comorbidities that traverse physical-mental health silos. Goodpath considers an individual’s complete set of conditions, delivering comprehensive virtual and personalized care that addresses the needs of the whole person.

Improving health outcomes and carrier competitiveness

The partnership provides Munich Re’s carrier clients with the opportunity to enhance their member experience and improve market competitiveness by offering Goodpath’s unique personalized digital health solution. With a goal of improving health outcomes and reducing healthcare costs for individuals and organizations, the Goodpath program incorporates distinctive elements such as a dedicated health coach, personalized digital treatments, and tailored customer care kits. The partnership also enables Munich Re to offer preferential pricing to clients looking to implement the Goodpath solution.

"We're thrilled to partner with Munich Re to provide their clients more access to whole-person care," said Carl Nehme, co-founder and President of Goodpath. "People experiencing a disabling health condition need additional health support during and after medical treatment. It's clear that Munich Re is committed to delivering the best possible care for its clients’ members and we're proud to be part of those efforts."

"A longtime leader in group and individual disability reinsurance, Munich Re actively pursues ground-breaking technology to help our clients control costs and enhance their customer experience," said Dawn McMaster, Head of Business Development, Group and Living Benefits at Munich Re Life US. "While we are best known for our risk and reinsurance work with primary carriers, this partnership is a prime example of the array of digital partnerships and market-leading services we offer to our wide-ranging client base. Goodpath offers our clients a direct way to improve member experience and to potentially reduce claims costs.”

Goodpath partners with disability carriers, employers, payers, and supplemental health providers with the aim of improving outcomes, lowering costs, and increasing engagement.
