A Milestone in Madrid: Celebrating One Year of Munich Re Specialty in Spain

    Building momentum in Madrid

    One year ago, Munich Re Specialty laid the foundations for its expansion into continental Europe by establishing a new operation in Madrid. Our goal was clear: to bring locally empowered specialty underwriting to the Spanish market, backed by a client-centric approach and the global scale, stability and expertise of Munich Re Specialty.

    Twelve months on, that vision has taken shape. Our Madrid team is now actively serving clients across Construction & Engineering, Property Damage, and Renewable Energy, combining decades of technical expertise with the responsiveness and proximity that local brokers and clients expect.

    A milestone worth celebrating

    To mark the occasion, we welcomed clients, brokers and partners to our inauguration in Madrid reflecting on the progress of our first year and the opportunities ahead.

    The event showcased the energy of our growing team and the strong market relationships that have defined our early success.

    The atmosphere, the conversations and the shared sense of our reflections and what’s to come next are all captured in our highlights video, a snapshot of a team and a market moving forward together. 

    Looking ahead

    The first year in Spain has confirmed the importance of our step-by-step approach: build strong teams, listen closely to local market needs, and grow sustainably with a selective approach.

    As we look to expand our product offering and deepen our partnerships, Madrid remains a cornerstone of Munich Re Specialty’s European strategy.

    As we move into year two, our focus is clear: build momentum, deepen our relationships, develop our product capability and continue to execute our specialised underwriting model in Spain.

    We look forward to building on this foundation together.
