About the speaker

Linda started her career in medical malpractice defense litigation at a large law firm in St. Louis, MO. After several years in practice, she pivoted career paths into healthcare risk management due a growing interest in patient safety and the strong connections with her clients: the hospital risk professionals. After leaving the practice of law, she worked as Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management Coordinator overseeing both regulatory and risk management activities for a multi-state health system in the Midwest. In 2018, she relocated to Boston, MA with her husband. She initially worked as a Risk Manager for Norwood Hospital before transitioning to a Senior Risk Manager at Tufts Medical Center. She is currently the Director of Patient Safety, Risk Management, and Patient Relations at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center in Burlington, MA. Linda is passionate about adult learning and professional development and fuels this by serving as a faculty member for ASHRM’s HRM 1 Certificate Program. She frequently presents for ASHRM, local risk management chapters, nursing schools, and other professional audiences. She is the 2026 Steering Committee Vice-Chair for the New England Regional Healthcare Risk Management Conference (NERC), having previously chaired the Education Subcommittee in 2025. She also serves as a Board Member for the Massachusetts Society for Healthcare Risk Management (MSHRM). In recognition of her contributions to the field, she received the ASHRM Rising Star Award in 2024. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Missouri, a Juris Doctor from Saint Louis University, and a Master of Business Administration from Boston University. She earned her Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) credential in 2020 and her Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) credential in 2025.

Tatum O’Sullivan, RN, BSN, MHSA, CPHRM, DFASHRM, CPPS, is the Healthcare Loss Control Expert for Munich Re Specialty – North America. She was recently the Director of Safety, Risk, and Patient Family Relations at Mass General Brigham Medical Group in Massachusetts. She is a Certified Professional in Health Care Risk Management (CPHRM) and Distinguished Fellow of the American Society for Health Care Risk Management (DFASHRM). Tatum is a dedicated member of the American Society for Health Care Risk Management (ASHRM), where she has served and chaired committees. She was previously elected to the advisory board and nominating committee and was the 2024 President of ASHRM. She has been on the Board of the Northern New England and Massachusetts chapters affiliated with ASHRM serving as Secretary and President for both. Lastly, she is a Certified Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) and a faculty member for the ASHRM patient safety certificate program. She has presented on risk management and patient safety strategies locally, nationally, and internationally. She was a contributor to several ASHRM workbooks and playbooks. Tatum was a co-author to the 2025 ASHRM whitepaper, Strategies for Promoting Risk Professional Resilience.
