What is a statutory engineering inspection?
A statutory engineering inspection involves the periodic inspection, or thorough examination, of workplace plant, machinery, and equipment. They form a vital part of an employer's duty of complying with regulatory obligations to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of their employees and workplace visitors.
Statutory inspections also help identify if faults or defects are present which may affect safe continued use, and they can ultimately add value by helping the business to operate efficiently.
