Munich Re China Innovation R&D Center was founded in July, 2023, operated by SiTao (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Munich Re). Centered on proposition of empowering the industry, R&D Center will build a global reinsurance hub and bridge the supply and demand gaps that exist for new industry risk. Through extensive research and cooperation, R&D Center will provide technology-driven industrial-oriented solutions to existing and new clients, and support the long-term development of China’s insurance and reinsurance sector. 

With Munich Re’s profound market experience and capabilities over the past 20 years in the Chinese market, R&D Center will be dedicated to research and innovation of emerging industries such as carbon peak and carbon neutrality. Combined with Munich Re’s global risk management experience, the R&D Center will utilize its research achievements to help clients manage risks arising from emerging industry chain, and enhance trust between all parties through innovative insurance products, in order to help China’s emerging industries move towards stability and maturity more quickly.
