Management Team

Dominic How joined HSB UK and Ireland in 2018 and was appointed to General Counsel and Company Secretary 2022, responsible for the provision of strategic and commercial legal advice on a broad spectrum of UK corporate governance, legal, and regulatory matters. Dominic also oversees the Compliance and Data Protection functions of the business. From 2018 to 2022, Dominic was Assistant General Counsel.

Prior to joining HSB, Dominic trained at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert in 2007, qualifying as a Solicitor specialising in insurance law in 2009, having spent six months in Singapore as a trainee dealing with aviation insurance claims. Following this, Dominic joined Clyde & Co on qualification in 2009, specialising in property and construction insurance litigation before joining HSB in 2022.

Dominic has over 20 years' experience both in private practice and in-house roles, including as a specialist Lloyd's placing broker.

Dominic is currently Deputy Chair of the IUA's Legal and Regulatory Committee.
