Biography

Sharad Mehra
Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, North America (Life and Health)

Mr. Mehra has more than 25 years of experience in the reinsurance industry, and has served as Chief Operating Officer, North America (Life and Health) since 2022. In this role, he oversees the claims, reinsurance accounting, and operations aspects for all Life and Health lines of business across both Munich Re Canada (Life) and Munich Re Life US, including leading a major transformation initiative that streamlined operations and enhanced efficiency across the organization. 

Prior to his current role, Mr. Mehra held various leadership positions within Munich Re, Canada (Life), including heading the underwriting and Individual Life pricing teams.

Mr. Mehra is an actuary and a graduate of the University of Waterloo with a Bachelor of Mathematics.
