    Paul Morden

    Paul is the Chief Executive Officer for the UK Life Branch, where he is responsible for the creation and implementation of Munich Re's life reinsurance strategy in the UK & Ireland. He oversees all business lines and looks for new ways to generate value for the business and our clients.

    Having joined Munich Re in 2003, Paul has held a variety of senior strategic, financial, and commercial roles before being named Chief Financial Officer of UK Life and Health Operations. In this role, he was responsible for the overall financial management of the business, including financial reporting, business planning, expense management, and data operations.

    Rushika  Dheir  

    Rushika is the Chief Financial Officer for the UK Life Branch. Since starting at Munich Re in 2006, Rushika has held senior commercial and financial positions, the most recent role being the Head of Financial Reporting.

    James Scholes

    James is the Chief Risk Officer of Munich Re UK Branch and a member of the Senior Management team. He is responsible for all Risk and Compliance activities within the UK Life and Health reinsurance business including oversight of the risk management framework, risk reporting and actuarial risk management. James joined Munich Re in 2013 and has held a number of actuarial, commercial and strategic roles across the UK Branch.

    Ian Davies

    Ian joined Munich Re in 1999 as a Claims Manager having worked in the life and health market for 15 years as an underwriting and claims technician and manager. He took on a variety of roles within Munich Re including Head of Treaty Operations, Director of Operations, Head of Protection and most recently Chief Operating Officer.

    Head of Longevity

      

    Martin Lockwood

    Martin heads up our longevity division both in the UK and globally overseeing new business, product development and in force. He joined Munich Re in 2011 from Prudential where he specialised in annuities, defined benefits de-risking and longevity swaps. Prior to that Martin oversaw some large Part VII transactions and worked on product development and distribution in financial services.

    Head of Structured Reinsurance

      

    David Walton

    David joined Munich Re in November 1998. Prior to that David had spent the early part of his actuarial career in the direct market with Albany Life, where he covered a variety of roles in valuation, financial reporting and product development.

    At Munich Re David is responsible for our Structured Reinsurance proposition and has successfully executed numerous capital management and financing solutions for a range of UK, Irish and offshore UK life assurance companies.

    Phil Gayner

    Phil joined Munich Re in 2008 and since then he has worked in a variety of roles covering pricing, biometrics and financial reporting. He currently heads up the Pricing team and is responsible for pricing across all lines of business for UK Life.

    Adrian Stevenson

    Adrian joined Munich Re in 2007 and is responsible for Munich Re’s Life & Health Protection business across UK and Ireland including Business Development, Underwriting, Claims and Marketing. With over 25 years’ experience in financial services, Adrian started his career as a Financial Advisor and since then has held a number of roles in reinsurance focussing on sales and marketing.

    “Much has changed in our industry but the fundamental need for people to ensure they have protection in place should things go wrong has not. My team at Munich Re do many great things but they ultimately support this need”.

    HR Business Partner

    Ben Woolston

    Ben is the HR Business Partner for the UK Life Branch. He works with the Leadership Team to ensure the delivery of strategic and operational people priorities including MI, using data to identify trends, recommend changes and initiatives. He provides support and guidance to all employees throughout the employee lifecycle as well as policy development and interpretation.  

    Ben joined Munich Re in 2014 and has held HR Business Partner positions for a variety of businesses. A certified Korn Ferry 360 Facilitator and Mental Health First Aider, Ben is also a Freeman of the Guild of HR Professionals and completed their National HR Leadership Programme in 2021
