Kavita Ramcharan has been appointed Vice President, Engineering, Inspection and Applied Technology, for HSB Canada.
Kavita leads Canada’s largest, most experienced insurance inspection and engineering force, keeping clients compliant with boiler inspection laws and ahead of emerging equipment risks. She works with a global team to develop strategies to increase understanding of new emerging risks and reduce losses for clients.
Kavita holds a Master of Applied Science in Engineering and since joining HSB Canada with project engineering experience, she has led several Inspection modernization projects. Kavita also leads HSB Canada’s Applied Sensor System Technology practice that works to drive innovation and assist clients. Kavita contribute to several industry and regulatory bodies including TSSA, CBMUA, CSA and IBC.
Leona Au has been appointed Assistant Vice President for HSB Canada.
Leona leads HSB Canada’s High Hazard Equipment Breakdown and All Risk Renewable Energy portfolios within the Technical Risk Underwriting Solutions Team (TRusT). The TRusT team works closely with their clients, brokers and risk managers who value and benefit from HSB Canada’s leadership in technical underwriting and risk engineering.
Leona is a Professional Engineer with a background in project engineering and project management in the fields of conventional and renewable energy and, since joining HSB Canada, she has applied this background to technical underwriting. Leona is an executive member of the Canadian Boiler & Machinery Underwriters Association.
