Great Lakes UK Branch operates as a Third Country Branch and is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority.
Great Lakes UK Subsidiary
As of 1 January 2023, the subsidiary writes our UK Agency and Coinsurance Business. Great Lakes Insurance UK Ltd enjoys the same credit rating as its parent company
(S&P AA-; A.M. Best A+) and is authorised by the Prudential Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority.
Great Lakes Australia Branch
The Australian branch based in Sydney is responsible for facilitation of the Australian Underwriting Agency and Corporate Large Single Risk business.
The Australian branch of Great Lakes is licensed by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission, holds an Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL No. 318603) and is authorised by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority to operate as a general insurer in Australia.
Great Lakes Australia was established in 2008.
Great Lakes Ireland Branch
The company’s Ireland branch gives us a presence in the Dublin market that we use to serve our customers and partners in Europe for the classes of business credit and suretyship.
A dedicated team of experts in Dublin provides credit risk solutions throughout the European Economic Area under the Freedom to Provide Services. This specialised business is about providing credit risk transfer / regulatory capital relief solutions to financial institutions and is conducted in close collaboration with the parent company Munich Re which provides reinsurance capacity.
Great Lakes Italy Branch
To serve and be close to our customers and partners in Italy, we have a branch in Milan.
The Italian branch of Great Lakes is subject to limited regulation by the Italian regulator IVASS with respect to operational aspects of consumer protection.
Great Lakes Switzerland Branch
For our customers and agents located in Switzerland we have a branch in Zug/Cham.
The Swiss branch of Great Lakes is licensed by the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority.
The branch was established in 2008.
