Munich Re Recognized for Work in Seclusion and Restraint in Schools

US Senator recognizes Munich Re as an example of a business that has addressed the topic of Restraint and Seclusion in Schools

On Wednesday February 12th at a press conference in Washington D.C., Senator Tom Harkin of Iowa introduced “Keeping All Students Safe Act" aimed at prohibiting the use of dangerous seclusion and restraints practices in schools. During the public address Senator Harkin acknowledged Munich Re as an example of a business that has addressed the topic of restraint and seclusion in schools. 

Senator Harkin chairs the Senate's Health Education Pensions and Labor (HELP) Committee.  To assist the committee and the staff on the House of Representatives Education and Workforce Committee’s write potential restraint and seclusion legislation, each member will be provided with Munich Re’s "FOCUS ON: Restraint and Seclusion in Schools" report.

US Senator Tom Harkin (D-IA) recognized Munich Re America when he introduced the “Keeping All Students Safe Act" to prohibit use of dangerous seclusion and restraints practices in schools. Munich Re's report "FOCUS ON: Restraint and Seclusion in Schools" describes the dangers and resulting liabilities associated with the practice.
