Claims at UK & Ireland Life
We have a dedicated team of claims management technicians at UK & Ireland Life with extensive experience in life and living benefits. They are supported by a team of global medical specialists, local medical officers and a small team of in-house lawyers who provide expert support and advice in the most complex cases.
Our philosophy is to focus on helping you with the more complex and high value claims, leaving you to manage the great majority of claims with minimal interference from us. To this effect we have a high Service Level Agreement (SLA) which is regularly exceeded by the team.
MIRA (Munich Re Internet Risk Assessor) Claims provides you with the gateway to our entire Critical Illness, Life and Disability claims philosophy, practice and process, both with the assessment of individual claims and the management of a whole portfolio. We were the first reinsurer to launch an electronic claims manual for the UK and Ireland.
Training and wider support
UK & Ireland Life provide a number of additional services. These include targeted training and development, access to our medical experts and legal advisors and claims process reviews. We consider the carrying out of a Claims Review to be a fundamental part of the best management of a reinsured portfolio.
Our Claims Reviews aim to support the development of your claims processes and practices by providing you with an objective assessment of them. Following a Review, we would look to provide relevant proposals to help further develop your end to end claims process. The report produced from a Review will be an honest appraisal with clear results and recommendations.
The extent of any Claims Review will vary but will always be done in agreement with you.
