Munich Re Specialty strengthens Dublin team with four senior appointments

Munich Re Specialty – Global Markets, Ireland has appointed four senior specialists to its Dublin team, marking a significant step in the company's growth strategy and its long-term commitment to the Irish market.

The appointments bring the Dublin team to 16 and span underwriting leadership and claims, signalling a broadening of both capability and ambition in the region.

• Cormac McNamara, Head of Underwriting, Ireland & EU Oversight, joins as the senior strategic lead for the Irish operation, strengthening Munich Re Specialty's underwriting governance and market positioning in Dublin.
• Simon King, Head of Property Underwriting, brings deep specialty expertise to one of the division's core product areas.
• David Woolard, Head of Financial Lines Underwriting, expands the team's product leadership as Munich Re Specialty continues to develop its Irish offering across specialty classes.
• Michael Keenan joins as Country Claims Manager, the first dedicated claims professional based in Dublin, giving brokers direct, local access to claims expertise for the first time.

The claims appointment in particular reflects a meaningful shift in how Munich Re Specialty is structured to serve the Irish market: moving from a predominantly underwriting-focused presence to a fully rounded operation capable of supporting brokers and their clients across the full policy lifecycle.
