HSB Engineering Insurance strengthens its regional teams for growth
Specialist engineering and construction insurer HSB Engineering Insurance (HSB), part of Munich Re, has strengthened its regional teams to concentrate on its trading relationships.
The move sees HSB increasing its focus on building and strengthening relationships with brokers, enhancing its underwriting approach and identifying opportunities for growth. The changes have been implemented to support the insurer’s vision of becoming the insurer of choice in the construction, engineering and renewable energy space.
Two new appointments announced today are part of the strengthening of the business development teams, Daniel Maskell, who is based in London, and Adam Phillips, who is based in Birmingham. The appointments bring an additional 25 years of industry experience to the business.
Since the beginning of 2012 there have been a number of new appointments across its five regions in the UK and Republic of Ireland including business development and underwriting roles, with more expected by the end of 2012. The new teams now have the technical ability, and flexibility to trade across all levels in the UK and internationally.
Tim James, Group Sales Manager at HSB, commented:
“The changes and the appointments we have made across the regions are to ensure that we have the most professional, technical and effective people working with our brokers and clients. This year we have made a number of senior business development and underwriting appointments in a move to improve flexibility and speed in decision making and the ability to underwrite locally to the customer.”
“I am pleased to bring Dan and Adam into the team, they both bring excellent business development skills and market relationships and I am sure they will play a key role in providing the high level of service and expertise our clients require.”
“Our teams are now working with clients in the UK and internationally which is key to our growth strategy and positioning HSB as a market leader in construction, engineering and renewable energy insurance.”
Daniel has held a variety of roles within Marsh, including those in commercial insurance placement, product development, and insurer relationship management which all included strategic planning and information management. Adam was a regional sales manager for Fusion Insurance, responsible for achieving targeted growth of revenue and total GWP to the branch, as well as maintaining and developing broker relationships. He has also held roles with HSBC and JLT.
