    Dr. Achim Kassow was born in Hannover in 1966.

    After training as a bank clerk at Deutsche Bank in Dusseldorf, he studied business administration and economics at the University of Cologne where he graduated with a doctorate. In 1993, Dr.  Kassow began his working career at Deutsche Bank AG in Dusseldorf in Corporate Banking before moving to Head Office in 1996 where he held various positions, most recently as director. In 1999, Dr.  Kassow moved to a managerial position at Deutsche Bank 24 AG in Bonn with responsibility for direct brokerage. As of November 2000, he continued his career as Chief Representative of Deutsche Bank 24 AG in Frankfurt and later became a member of the Board of Management responsible for product management and direct banking. In 2002, Dr.  Kassow moved to comdirect bank AG in Quickborn as Chair of the Board of Management until being appointed, in 2004, to the Board of Management of Commerzbank AG in Frankfurt. There he was responsible for Asset Management, Private and Business Clients and for Central and Eastern Europe. In 2011, Dr.  Kassow switched to the Allianz Group and took over as Chair of the Board of Management of Oldenburgische Landesbank AG. In 2015, he was appointed Chair of the regional management South Germany at Allianz Deutschland AG in Munich. In November 2016, Dr.  Kassow joined the Board of Management of ERGO Deutschland AG in Dusseldorf where he was also Chair starting in January 2017.

    Dr.  Kassow was appointed as a member of the Board of Management of Munich Reinsurance Company effective 1 May 2020. He is responsible for the Asia Pacific and Africa Division as well as the central divisions Central Procurement and Global Real Estate and Services.  Additionally he holds global responsibility for human resources since May 2022, including the function of Labour Relations Director.
