General description

Losses from weather-related natural disasters have been increasing in many regions in recent years. The focus of this seminar is on climate change and its physical impact on weather risks. What special characteristics can be expected in individual regions? What does this mean for nat cat modeling today and with forward-looking approaches?

  • Current status of climate research and examples of physical climate risks

  • Loss trends from natural hazards in selected regions
  • Consideration of climate factors in probabilistic nat cat modeling
  • Location-based risk analysis based on IPCC scenarios – Munich Re’s Risk Intelligence Platform/Climate Change Edition
