Today’s vehicles are becoming more and more like computers on wheels. This simplifies driving but also allows for a smoother car experience. Many older vehicles are also connected to the internet – either directly through the vehicle itself or thanks to aftermarket solutions such as telematics devices for fleet management systems. With increasing reliance on data and software, there are now more ways in which a vehicle or an entire fleet can be affected by a cyber incident.  

This seminar looks at different cyber incidents involving vehicles, assesses the relevance for current motor insurance policies and explores how (re)insurers can deal with this topic going forward.
