A cross-divisional trainee programme at Munich Re (Group)

EXPLORE is our international Group Trainee Programme for future management positions in the insurance business. Over a period of 24 months, this cross-divisional trainee programme allows you to explore three different companies under the umbrella of Munich Re (Group). You will gain valuable insights into the insurance business as a whole as well as into the specific aspects of reinsurance, primary insurance and asset management. Our Group Trainee Programme is tailored to give future leaders a firm professional grounding and provide Munich Re (Group) with top talents.
24 months
Munich Re's Group Trainee Programme offers an integrated, cross-divisional approach to becoming an expert leader in the finance industry.
3 different companies
Encompassing three different business units, this unique traineeship gives participants a comprehensive insight into the opportunities and challenges the insurance and finance market is facing today.
2 international assignments
As part of the programme, participants can choose two three-month assignments at our international companies.

01 Onboarding

During a two-week kick-off you will be introduced to the Munich Re (Group), its business models and markets at home and abroad. You will also become familiar with the basics of the insurance business.

02 On-the-Job Module

As a Group Trainee you will gain extensive know-how about future insurance markets in eight different departments across our three business units. These may be in Germany or at one of our international locations.

03 Off-the-Job Module

In addition to your training on the job, you will have the opportunity to attend seminars and participate in both internal and external conferences. These will be scheduled in line with your own individual development plan. You will also be involved in major projects.

04 Support

Throughout your traineeship you will receive support and guidance regarding your individual development, your assignments at home and abroad and your career prospects.

05 Mentoring

A senior executive from Munich Re, ERGO or MEAG will be your personal mentor throughout the entire traineeship programme to support you in developing your personal, professional and leadership skills.

06 Networking

Various meetings and internal events will provide you with excellent networking opportunities throughout the Group and enable you to gain valuable insights into our corporate culture and structures.

We are looking for ambitious top talents with a proven passion for the financial industry who, after 24 months of intensive training, will be able to fill responsible positions. If you recognise yourself in the following list, we look forward to receiving your application:
Academic backround
– A master's or doctoral degree and outstanding academic achievements in economics, law, computer science or mathematics
– Genuine interest in a leadership career within the financial sector
– International experience
Personal skills & dedication
– An enquiring, open-minded personality
– Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
– Excellent command of English and one other language with high proficiency

Please apply by the 30th of April at the latest. Applications must be submitted online. The assessment centres will take place from the beginning of March until the end of June 2020. Successful participants will be hired directly.
