UK & Ireland Life

Munich Re UK & Ireland Life was established in 1977 and has grown to become a leading player in the UK and Irish reinsurance markets.

UK & Ireland Life’s responsibilities include:

  • Reinsuring all life and disability products
  • Providing financial reinsurance
  • Providing innovative reinsurance solutions to manage the longevity risk of pension schemes and annuity portfolios

They understand that Life insurers work in a dynamic market where medical progress, demographic trends and changing lifestyles are constantly giving rise to new risk landscapes. This demanding situation is made even more challenging by changing laws and regulations and ever tougher competition. Any company that hopes to meet these challenges must continue to develop its business model, optimise its processes and enhance its capital efficiency. They support insurers in these efforts and work together with them to devise customised solutions that are viable for the future.
