Tape, cardboard and cling film are Michal Budny's preferred materials. In addition to site-specific installations, he creates, from these simple and seemingly unattractive materials, geometric, strictly minimalistic objects that are at the same time of delicacy and poetic appeal. With lightness and ease, he wraps cardboard cartons and wooden panels in paper or cling film. The materials always bear evidence of use. The fine, usually transparent wraps are in places wrinkled or creased, sometimes showing tears. Budny's objects thus not only intimate the production process, but also their own ephemeral nature, their own transience, and their vulnerability to time and space.
