Four small walks from and to Hohenkammer, 2008

Watercolour, pencil on paper

In the newly created series for Munich Re, the "walking artist" integrated relics from earlier trips, interconnecting regional characteristics of the immediate surroundings with the rest of the world. His interest focuses on the perception and experience of nature while he walks. He dispenses with altering the landscape or leaving traces in it. Instead, the experiences and adventures of his travels find material expression in the form of murals, drawings and texts. He perceives both contemplative moments and existential experiences of exposure, and translates these into his conceptual and sensory works.
