Eduardo Chillida

Born 1924 in San Sebastián, Spain
Died 2002 in San Sebastián, Spain

Leku II, 1969

74 x 104 cm

Even as a draughtsman and graphic artist, Chillida remained faithful to his guiding artistic principle. He formed imaginary spaces with his clean-cut geometric shapes, intriguingly set against the white backdrop. This effect is further enhanced by the haptic quality of the embossed prints, where the heavy pressure plates have sunk into the soft hand-made paper and left deep embossing traces on the sheet.
