The direct exchange with clients has always been of utmost importance to Munich Re. Thanks to this history of close cooperation, our Divisional Unit: Health can develop individual solutions which make the best-possible use of the cedants' resources and structures.
In addition to traditional reinsurance, the unit offers its clients product development support, network management and actuarial services. This gives our clients an advantage in their business and ensures Munich Re long-term relations based on partnership.
Individual consulting is backed up by management tools and proprietary IT systems. Two examples show how cedants profit from these tools:

The MedNeXt-System offers an established software solution for portfolio and claims management. Clients thus have an integrated platform which greatly facilitates professional business management and market entry in new regions.

The expert system NORMRISK® for checking applications and risks is used by many insurers in developed and emerging markets. The result: "better" (= more risk-adequate) underwriting decisions and more efficient processing of health insurance applications, either as a "point of sale" solution or for desk staff.
