The Trilateral Coordinated Patrol was launched by top military officials of Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia with the goal of patrolling the Straits of Malacca. This alliance has proved successful: there were only 3 attacks in the first half of 2006, compared with 20 in the first half of 2004.
