Munich Re sets up new life reinsurance company in Moscow

Munich Re has received the certificate confirming registration of a subsidiary company in Moscow and will now apply for a licence to conduct business. When the licence is issued, Munich Re will be the first foreign reinsurer to operate its own company in Moscow. This will mark the beginning of a new level of service for its life insurer clients.

The decision to establish Munich Reinsurance Company – Life Reinsurance Eastern Europe/Central Asia is in line with the continuing expansion of life reinsurance business in the region where, thanks to the general economic upswing, Munich Re expects substantial growth in the insurance markets.
